Sea Fishing

For those who prefer salt water fishing, there are many tour operators on Koh Samui. At Lamai, Chaweng Beach and on the north coast road, a full day fishing tour can be had for about 1200 Thai Baht. You will be out on the boat all day, so dress appropriately and do not forget your sunscreen.

Often these tours will drop anchor in several locations along the Koh Samui coast during the day, so you will also get a unique view of Koh Samui's beaches. Almost all of the day-long fishing tours will include lunch and liquid refreshments. When you are ready to devour your catch, the crew on the boat can prepare and cook your fish for you. It is considered common courtesy to share your meal with the crew.

Night Fishing

Another enjoyable and unique fishing experience is a night fishing tour. At a cost of approximately 1700 Thai Baht, the tour leaves in the early evening hours and returns the following morning. These tours also include meal and liquid refreshments. You will be picked up in the reception area of your hotel and returned there in the morning.

The crew on the boat will supply you with all of the bait, tackle and equipment you will need for a night of great fishing. If you are angling for a kingfish or a big barracuda, then a night fishing tour is your ticket to catching these big prizes. As with the day fishing tours, the boat captain can prepare and cook your catch for you and will be honored to share the meal with you! If you plan on taking your catch back to your hotel, pre-arrangements will need to be made.
